When you are facing challenges that seem to be thrusting you into those places that you don't want to go, you must fight back with everything you know. Life may get hard sometimes but as Les Brown says “Just because Fate doesn’t deal you the right cards, it doesn’t mean you should give up. It just means you have to play the cards you get to their maximum potential.

Make A Decision To Be An Overcomer

L

ife, at times takes us on journeys that are very much unfavorable; loss of a job, loss of a loved one, accidents, sicknesses, emotional anguish, stress, and many other disappointments, but you don't have to allow it to permanently take away your happiness.

Circumstances may change the way you feel but it doesn’t have to change your mind.

The fact that you made it through one more day means that things will get better.

Don't let a few clouds sour your life.  Life is going to offer its share of difficulties and adversities but keep your head up. All is not lost.  It is natural by human nature to be discourage but the bible says “count it all joy when you fall in to divers temptations " James 1:2-3.

I have had many circumstances to take place in my life that at first, I really thought I wasn't going to make it.  There were times that I felt sadness but at some point, I decided to encourage myself, talk to myself, and pray (this really helps).  I still face challenges at times but I've learn a better way to deal with them.

You may not always feel like you have the strength to go through, ask God to help you,  keep a good attitude and realize that this is not a setback but a set up for victory.

"You might be down for a moment, feeling like it's hopeless but that's when He reminds you...You're an OVERCOMER!"

When you face disappointments, your feelings can get in the way and tell you that you won't make it, but don't believe your feelings and emotions.Talk back to those negative thoughts and replace them with positive declarations of faith by saying “it will be a great day", "God has favor in my future",

"My trust is in the Lord because I know He cares for me
", "I will not be defeated, my hope is in the Lord", “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me”.

When you face difficult challenges, make the decision to put on the garment of praise for that spirit of heaviness. Start thanking God for what He has done, is doing, and for what He is going to do.  Start thanking Him for the favors that He is putting in your life. When you do this you will experience a difference in how you feel you will experience joy.

Make up your mind to have a great day. Make up your mind that you are going to have a day of victory.

"On the gloomiest day just remember that just above those clouds the sun is shining."

 "Rejoice Evermore." 1 Thessalonians 5:16

Enjoy Happiness

B

eing grateful is one of the keys to living a happy life.  Instead of complaining about what you don’t have be grateful for what you do have...Find something positive to be thankful for.  Don’t take life for granted. I heard a story from a young man I went to school with who was in a terrible accident in which his car caught fire.  He was trapped inside and no one was able to get him out;  Click here to Read more

The Power of Your Words

H

ow do you “see” words?  Do you ever think about the effects of what come out of your mouth?  Have you ever really considered the syntax of your vernacular before conveying your “message”?

Many of us do not.  Our words are more powerful than you can imagine. They can have a profound effect on your life and everyone around you.  They can heal or hurt, bring a smile or frown, they can determine your failures or successes; what you say to others can also either build them up or tear them down.

Words play a very important part in our life. "Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."

Negative words will never bring life unless they are recanted, or changed.

Words that ridicule, torment, harass and tear down a person will never bring life. Thoughts that are always fearful and bitter will never remove fear and worry. The Lord says our thoughts are not His, but they can be His if we will change our way of thinking and speaking. We have what we have because we speak into existence.

We must learn to channel our words toward a more positive direction. Use words to be a solution not a problem.

Your Faith Will Keep You Strong

Y

our Faith is what will keep you strong.  We all make mistakes, and  fear that results will cause us to worry about what others say and many times people (our friends, relatives, society) will hold it against us forever. but God will forgive us and we have to come to the realization that we are not all perfect.

Don't give up because of things that may be going wrong in your life. You must allow your faith to keep you strong.  Don't give up because someone dear to you has past on.

Your faith must keep you strong. Just because you don't see the door doesn't mean it isn't there. Take control of your circle of friends. Find friends who will truly be there not just in words, but in work.

Don't allow others to control how you feel about yourself or your family. Don't allow others to tell you that "you will not make it", "you might as well give up" or You're not good enough". Your faith will keep you strong.  Sometimes what seems like the best thing to has ever happen to you--really isn't. Don't allow your life to be shattered by this.

But allow your faith to keep you strong. God doesn't care about your past. When you ask Him forgiveness then you have a clean slate. You now have a chance to start over. Don't get me wrong, mistakes must be dealt with; but it's how you choose to deal with them that determines where your next step will take you.

Your Faith will keep you strong. There is no situation so bad that God cannot handle and turn things around. There is no room so dark that God cannot see you. There is no depth too deep that God cannot reach down and pull you out.  Your faith will keep you strong.

Don't Go At It Alone

Sometimes the burdens and circumstances we face are more than we can handle alone.  Homelessness, illness, financial hardships, loss of a loved one, substance abuse, chemical dependency and others are areas where we need a friend, someone to talk to.

We have all been in some of these situations at one poin
t or another. It may seem that you can’t talk to anyone but I want to encourage you to find someone who can help whether it is a church or a counseling agency. Don’t go at it alone.

As a community we should all be there for each other.

Empowerment

E

mpowerment is inner strength, boldness, wisdom, the ability to face a challenge without fear or rejection, authority. Being empowered means that fear is no longer the driving force or compelling factor in deciding who we are. “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” II Timothy 1:7

As children of God we have the power to tread over anything that the enemy puts in our path. So then why do we struggle with timidity, shyness, the “I can’t do it syndrome”? Because we have not allowed the Spirit of God to empower us with His strength. The power of God has already been given to us; all we have to do is accept it. He says in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Like a withered flower, so are we when we do not embrace the power of God.

Allow God to heal and empower you to be all that you are in Him.  Study His word daily (II Timothy 2:15). Seek His face daily (Isaiah 55:6). Seek God like this is the last day of your life.

Say to yourself, “I will not go another day without seeking God for His fullness and power, for the strength of the Lord is my empowerment.”

Let us take back what the enemy has stolen from us.

--Ruth

Forgiveness
We all make mistakes sometimes. It's okay. God still loves us no matter what. Ask Him for forgiveness and go forth in your purpose. Don't listen to negative people, but get in the presence of those positive folks who will lift you up and hold you accountable and who will keep you encouraged. When things don't work out the way you planned maybe God is trying to detour you to HIS plan. Be encourage and Be lifted

The Power of Believing

I

t’s all in a day’s work. Faith....  Believing that what isn’t will be.  Yes it’s all in a day’s work.  Each time you wake up you are acting in faith.  When you walk out of your door and get into your vehicle to go to a destination, you are acting in faith.  How? Because when you leave headed for work, school, or wherever you’ve decided to go, you believe that you are going to get there.  When you wake up you believe that when you put your feet down to the floor you will be able to stand up.

Faith, being sure that what you expect is going to come to past; trusting that God the Father is a keeper of His Word. Exercising our faith and exercising positive thinking goes hand in hand with trusting in God.  Faith helps us to be happy.

Having faith goes along with giving thanks . . . being thankful for everything. “Be careful for nothing but with everything give thanks” Philippians 4:7-6  Even when it seems like nothing is going right , we should still be thankful; thankful for life, thankful that we have been giving another chance to breathe.  Being thankful and having an attitude of gratitude leads to blessings.

Many of us struggle with believing in the things that God has promised because we are too busy trying to understand what‘s going on in our lives; we worry about if our bills are going to get paid; we worry about worry!  If we stop trying to comprehend faith and believe God, our lives would be much better.  It is easier to trust God and have faith than it is to worry.  Worrying is like sitting in the hot sun, it drains you. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

I have had my share of experiences but what I have put into practice is making daily affirmations to help my faith grow.  Here are some scriptures that I also affirm:

  • “If God be for us, who can be against us” – Romans 8:31
  • “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world” – I John 4:4
  • “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength”  -Isaiah 40:29
  • “In Him I move and live and have my being” – Act 17:28

I was recently asked, if you can have faith if you don’t go to church.  We my response was “of course you can but in order to strengthen your faith it is important to be around others who can support you when your faith needs help.  Hebrews 10:25 tells us “. . . Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching”.  Ecclesiastes 4:9 tells us that “ two are better than one; because they have a good [more satisfying] reward for their labor; 10 for if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 12. And though a man might prevail against him who is alone, two will withstand him. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
